Eustis High School5

Eustis, FL | Lake County

March 24, 2014

This school is very depressing. It is very noticable that across the board, everyone is uncaring and laid-back. This also comes as a good thing because everyone is socially accepting and lenient. Things are progressively getting better at this school though with a little encouragement to do activities, this school can show it's amazing potential.

Eustis has really improved under Mrs. Valez. New dynamic and exciting teachers are flocking to the school to work with her and now Eustis has more AP class offerings than any other school in the Golden Triangle (and I think Lake County as well). My son is really enjoying the coaches and the teachers flourishing as a young man there. Don't take anyone's word for out, come check out what it is now instead of assuming it is still like it was.

Eustis High School is a huge disappointment. From the top down, the no one seems to care about the kids. Of course there are a few wonderful teachers, but they are over shadowed by the large number of uncaring staff and faculty. The classes are uncontrolled, the teachers spend class time playing with their own social media, curse words are free flowing by both teachers and students. If you are a very involved parent, your student may survive and come away with a basic eduation. Otherwise, just expect a piece of paper with no value they call a diploma.

My son attends Eustis High. The new principal, Mrs. Velez, is very committed to the students. Mr. Geoffrion, Mr. Synder, Ms. Mariany are excellent teachers.

Some of the best teachers, and a few of the worst. I've only ever had one bad experience with a teacher, but I can't blame the school for her behavior. All of my other teachers have been phenomenal, particularly Mr.Hobbs, Mr.Snyder and Mr.Geoffrion. They are the best teachers I've had in my 11 years of school.

As you may know, They do not update the reviews on here! My child attended Eustis High School for the 2011-2012 year. As a parent, I want my child to get the best education possible and make sure my child has a learning environment with no distractions. My child is put in all advanced classes, and has straight A's. She is doing excellent in school with no problems. The teachers and staff and Eustis High are great, and are always very welcoming. I highly recommend this school. Mr.Larry, the principle at Eustis High, is very involved in the kid's learning, as well as the sports. I rate this school with 5 stars!!!

Eustis High school is good and all but slowly become involved with drugs, I myself am trying to get out of this school ,most of the teacher have no clue what they are teaching and the students are now just teaching them selves .The school only cares for the football team not the learning. But around lake county there is no good schools.

EHS is an okay school, but they treat us like kindergarteners, not Highschoolers. they try too hard to relate to us. Personally, i believe the principle is at fault for most of the problems at Eustis Highschool. Like i said, he tries to hard to relate, which he doesn't; at all. the man makes mind-numbingly boring speaches at every single assembly. He talks more about his upbringings, than about us. Honestly, i believe so little in Eustis High, that i'm trying my HARDEST to get switched to Daytona State College, or any other school, for that matter.

As a graduate of Eustis High School, class of 2006, I would like to say that ALL of these reviews must be taken with a large grain of salt. I imagine that some of the students who continually dissrespected teachers/administrators, never showed up to class, or completed course assignments are now criticizing the school on this messageboard. Parents should STRONGLY investigate the teachers, and find ones who can best prepare their students. As an A student, I mostly took honors and AP classes. I didn't have to sit in classes where the teacher was spending half of the period disciplining students. Overall, a great school that prepared me to become a successful college student. Note to Parents: check on the teachers who are teaching your kids!!! DEFINITELY encourage them to participate in sports/after-school clubs to develop well-roundedness for college/life in general, visit the AWESOME/VERY HELPFUL ladies in the college/career center!!

I went on to succeed after Eustis High School, so I wont complain. There were opportunities to learn, to excel, to prepare for the future. There were adequate ressources and motivated teachers (and to a lesser degree, students). However, the textbooks were often canned and too limited.

The school means well but as of current cant seem to get with it. Kids are dropping out left and right because of how hard it is for them to pass. The school has/had made many changes and it seems as though all of them have hurt the school.

As a 2007 graduate of Eustis High School, I can honestly say that is what you make it. I personally think that there had been a lack of discipline; however, I have heard a lot of great things about the new principal and think that that problem is behind us. Parents play a key role in their child's education. Challenge them to take the harder classes and get involved on campus. The Dual Enrollment program is great. The ladies in the career center are helpful as is the guidance receptionist. Overall, Eustis is a great school with a lot of sprit! Go Eustis!

Eustis High School Isnt all that great, Teachers don't care about the Students unless they are in their classroom. The teachers are unresponsive to those who interrupt the class constantly, and dont realize that when they teach they arent getting through to most of the students. The campous is usually clean, but most students dont take the classes seriously because the teacher doesnt. Students Dont respect others, and they dont show the need to learn. I love the Guidance Departments!

Some of the teachers are wonderful at EHS - where others have no business being there. I'm unimpressed with the principal - there is not enough discipline. Kids who disrespect teachers should be out after 3 offenses - but they just keep ending up in the classroom. I don't feel like the principal backs up the teachers enough. The campus looks great - and overall its a good school.

Some teachers don't really care how your child is doing, as long as they can get through the day. The parent involvement seems like a 'clique' group. I have been involved in our childrens school for quite some time, but here, they just don't seem to respond to your offer to volunteer. We do have some great teachers, but there are just too many that don't seem to really care either way. We have good sports teams, but unfortunately, they have to compete against private schools that can recruit & practice all year long.
